Russell M. Finestein is a member of the firm. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia (B.S. in Commerce with distinction, 1978) and the University of Michigan (J.D., cum laude, 1981). He is an experienced transactional lawyer and litigator, with a concentration in real estate, real estate title litigation and tax appeals. He was formerly the attorney for the Westfield Planning Board from 2003-2011 and Westfield’s municipal attorney from 2011-2017. He has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer each year from 2011-2018. He is a frequent lecturer in seminars sponsored by the New Jersey Land Title Institute and has served as an expert witness in real estate title and legal malpractice cases. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section). His bar admissions include New Jersey (1981), New York (1988), Florida (1984) the U.S. District Court (N.J. 1981 and N.Y. 1988), and the Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals (1997). Published opinions include First American Title Ins. Co. v. Lawson, 177 N.J. 125 (2003), UPS Capital Business Credit v. Abbey, 408 N.J. Super. 524 (Ch. Div. 2009) and Pearson v. DMH2 Limited Liability Company, 449 N.J. Super (Ch. Div. 2016).
